Check out Mitchy Four Bags, y’all:
Mitch Moreland saw one pitch.
He made the most of it. #Statcast pic.twitter.com/pS3P1NS7Xt

My favorite part of Mitch’s three-run moonshot? Yasiel Puig standing dead still and watching it sail over his head. I feel you, Yasiel; no sense running into the wall for that one.
After living through that unsatisfying, 18-inning ordeal on Friday night/Saturday morning, last night’s game — which, by the way, I’m pretending was won by Nathan Eovaldi — was exactly what I needed: nine innings of come-from-behind goodness, highlights from which will be an absolute joy to watch on NESN’s inevitable 2018 World Series Blu-ray this winter. (Yes, I said it, and, no, I am not worried about jinxing anything. The Red Sox — a.k.a. the best team in baseball — are up 3-1 and now have three chances to win one more game. It’s happening. That is all.)
And, hey, speaking of highlights: early in last night’s game, I announced to my wife and son that Steve Pearce was the guy who would do something big during Game 4. This is a real thing that happened. I said it out loud. There are witnesses.
I was not wrong.
Can I interest you in a game-tying dinger?

And, hey, while we’re at it, howzabout a bases-clearing, three-run double to seal the deal?

Yes, please and thank you.
In addition to Moreland’s and Pearce’s clutch hits, you know what else I’m looking forward to catching on the aforementioned celebratory Blu-ray? The audio for this right here:
Chris Sale was quite heated.
“He throws two fucking pitches,” he said, likely about Rich Hill. pic.twitter.com/vVcIN8RUjY

“He throws two fucking pitches! … Let’s get some fucking runs!”
Unhinged Chris Sale is my favorite Chris Sale.
So now it’s time for Game 5 with Chris Sale David Price on the mound. Yes, plot twist: David Price — a pitcher who, until recently, was known for choking in the postseason, but who flipped the script on all that by shutting down the Yankees in Game 5 of the ALCS and notching another win in Game 2 against the Dodgers — will return to the mound with a chance to clinch a World Series win for the Boston Red Sox. It’s his “John Lackey Road to Redemption” moment. If he pulls it off, we’re about to see the Sox hoist their fourth World Series trophy in 14 years. If he doesn’t, we get to watch another game at Fenway this year. I’m cool with either outcome … but I’m predicting it’ll be the first one.
Enjoy the game, y’all; it might be the last time we see the Red Sox play until next year.
